Troubleshooting Epson XP-15000 Error 031006

Background

About 10 days ago or so I installed the chipless firmware on my then, well-working 2-week-old Epson XP-15000. Today, however, I encountered error 031006, which appears as soon as I power on the printer. Epson considers this a significant hardware failure and will be sending me a new printer.

Concerns

Do I need to purchase the firmware again for the new printer? I hope there is a way to avoid this, as I extensively tested the printer for a few weeks prior to the firmware installation.

Solution to Error 031006
To resolve error 031006, you need to upload the firmware in regular mode. Follow the steps below:
1. Download the firmware version
2. Do not enter Firmware Mode; simply run the updater and upload the firmware to your printer
3. Use your activation key

Additional Troubleshooting Steps
After powering on the printer and running the updater, I encountered an error message indicating that the update failed. I tried this process twice with the same outcome, even after running the license and entering the key successfully. Upon restarting the printer, error code 031006 persisted, and the print head did not move.
As a replacement printer is on the way, I wonder if I can transfer the license purchased two weeks ago to the new device.
Note that an Activation Key can only be used on one printer.
